ART IN A COFFEE CUP:  PAINT - HARMONY - URBAN We know that the whole creation is groaning together and suffering labour pains Paddy Mcaloon I Trawl The Megahertz - wrote while recovering from eye surgery for retina detachment that meant he couldn't read. He listened to the radio, was on medication that made him very sleepy, and as he tuned in and out of the voices on the radio he began to imagine music. - I like this synthesis of life leading to art, authentic inspiration.  B.V Doshi (Architect) - I had a 6th sense about Doshi, when I saw his name, before knowing anything about him or his work I knew he would be one of my favorite artists. - Doshi inspires me not only in my work but in the way I would like to live my life. - Creates a harmony in his design as well as designing buildings for urban settings. Steven Meisel (Fashion Photographer) - I feel like I could just look and look and look at his pictures - for hours. I wish I could hold them in front of me a leaf through them. -

Armour for The Apocalypse: A New Fashion Era

A NEW FASHION ERA : ARMOUR FOR THE APOCALYPSE Harry, Yasmin, Mike, Luke, Carla BRAINSTORMING RESEARCH - We researched sustainable materials. MOODBOARDS PLANNING AND MOCK UPS PROCESS - the hands on the logo is ESL for 'horse', there are 4 to symbolise the four horsemen of the apocalypse. The colours represent the colours of those horses. The eye is a reference to the biblical description of angels and a symbol of judgement, enlightenment, and conscience. - The materials we used were all clothes that we don't wear anymore, lots of the clothes we used had become to small for us. To make a pattern for the hoodie we unpicked an old hoodie. For the arms we used a pair of sweatpants. I liked this way of making clothes - it made me unexpectedly happy to see my old sweatpants become something new. - We also had time to quickly make a gillet out of our unused scraps. If we had more time I would have liked to have spent more time making it more structured. - the ribbon detailing on th
